For all those are unaware of the blessed Muhammadan Example that Shaykh Hassan Cisse (RA) left us with, this edition will fill them in!

As-Salam Alaykum dear lovers of the Beauty of Muhammad (SAW),

All of you are invited to a Unique Session of the Explanation of the Entire Qasidah Burdah!!!

At: Masjid-ul-Quds (Gatesville, Cape Town, South Africa)

On: This Saturday (4 April) starting immediately after Asr.

The MJC and the ‘Seekers of Knowledge” have requested this writer to do a summarized explanation of the Entire Qasidah Burdah (160 lines/10 chapters!) in one single sitting. The Burdah discusses various aspects of the Prophet (SAW) and his august personality.

Al-Hamduli’Llah, this is the second time I will be doing this. The last time was in the Turkish Mosque in Johannsburg where the BURDAH LESSON went on for 5 continuous hours (with breaks for Salah only)! What was amazing was that the attendees (from all races and all ages) sat enchanted for 5 hours and no one left!

I myself did not get tired of the continuous talking!

It was a very Spiritual gathering indeed! Flowing with the Jewels from the Life of the Crown of Creation Sidina Muhammad (SAW). Many were crying.

At the end, I granted everyone Ijazah in the blessed Burdah Poem through my chains to the author Imam Busiri (RA).

Now Cape Town will have that honor!!!

We all sing and listen to the Burdah often, but let us come and understand that the Burdah is all about!

The gathering will start after ASR and end by ESHA. After that will be some refreshments.

Lets dedicate that Saturday to the Beloved of Allah (SAW).

Shaykh Hassan Cisse (RA) also taught the entire Burdah to his talibes once, over a period of few months.

He once told me that Sahib-al-Faydah Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) would not sleep without listening to the Burdah or part of it.

In the light of the night
Rise and fight!
The army that is not insight
But blinds you from true light
And binds you to an awful plight
Cut with the sword of salutation
Upon Perfection
The owner of benediction
The Mercy of all mercies
The sky of a most illuminant light
The Crown of creation
The antidote of damnation
The possessor of praise
Who did the veils of falsehood raise
The Trumpet on Truth’s lips
The Author of Virtue
The Sculpture of humility
The Fragrance of all messengers
That blossomed in Time’s infinite Garden
The Splendor of God!
The Slave that gave
Every split moment of he’s existence
To his Master until
He’s noble grave
And Beyond it too he’s still a slave
And what a blessed path to God
Hath he paved
For those who desire to be saved
With God’s pleasure on every step engraved
A path that sealed all others
And yes this seal must be celebrated!
In beautiful garments of ecstasy
And couplets of supremacy to he’s Excellency
And lame is that tongue that refrains
And the ear that has not heard it knows no melody
And that eye that hath not seen it has not seen day light
And that heart that denies it hath tied a knot with Tragedy
And that soul that Perished in his praise
Will in the majestic countenance of he’s beloved be raised
And from the belly of the spiting fire saved
Where agony and pain is multiplied




They will be lifted ( Those that praise him)
To a lofty height that Al Furqaan hath eloquently explained
A marvelous abodeThe rightful retreat of every righteous soul
Where every pleasure and leisure is whole

Celebrate and praise!
He who delivered the complete Message in 8280 days
Enduring: Brutal torment and unbearable disgrace
And made servitude to God he’s only place!
The one unshaken by falsehood’s Quake
Revealing truth in every space
Until injustice vanished without a trace
He who brought pure light to the world’s face
Till ignorance hath had its taste
Of a tantalizing truth that will never fade
A Mercy that ices the flames of that bewildering blaze

And here sits a helpless face
Hypnotized by the gimmicks that
My unruled self embrace
To your example a complete disgrace
Of your ways in me I found no trace
And so my love for you in my heart is some how misplaced
And yet I yearn to see your blessed face
And yet I’ll profess my fondness of you
And at times I pause and ponder of you
Be it little or insignificant
Be you near or be you distant
I know that every seed must some day germinate
I pray that this one grows soon rather than late

Here sits a useless form
Towards your reflection it knows no haste
It flings every millionth of every moment to waste
As it has given fools gold the chase
And yet I yearn to embrace
You and see your radiant face
I yearn to follow your every step
To know you at loves greatest depth
To praise you profusely in the rhyme of poetry
In the charismatic chaos of its melody
And in the calmness of its humming harmony





And at the pinnacle of my yearning
I come to know that all my yearning
Can not suffice what belongs to you
But if this all I am able to do
Then this pauper presents to you
An insignificant gift to you
For only your Master to whom you are true
Can praise you in a manner most fitting to you
So may God Bless you and Praise you
In Blessings and Praises that are most fitting to you

At he who took
Your meditative gaze
Your gentle eyes

And so I look
At he who took
Your tender ways
What beautiful ways
And so I look
At he who took
Your soft walk
What a wonderful walk

And so I look
At he who took

What a comforting speech
And So I look
At this Arrow of light
From your bow of truth
With a point that hit your mark
As he rejuvenated your teachings
with a glowing spark





And so I Look
At your sword
An edge of knowledge
That petrified ignorance
And so I look
At a soul that shook
A napping global village
By sound ways of The Book
A heart of generosity
An unmatched reviver
An image of the receiver
An exceptional Leader
Complete Teacher
The Guide to Guidance
The Caller to repentance
The Sultan of God’s Remembrance

May he be lifted
To a most honorable station
May he remain a vivid image in History’s contemplation
May he’s way become the flame
Of every disciples determination
May we inherit He’s manner of meditation
May he’s footstep’s become ours
Till the promised hour
Though hearts are sour
And saturated with sorrow
At separation from Islam’s Flower
Whose fragrance all will know at the nearing hour
Islam’s over shadowing tower
Whose height all will know at the final hour

Soul’s that follow
Have not forgotten the hour
When deeds will be accounted
Were beloved will be with loved!

O God Bless our Master MUHAMMED(PBUH)
Who opened what was closed
And who is the seal of what has gone before
He who makes the Truth Victorious by the Truth
The guide to thy straight path
And Bless his household as it the due
